The Rose (rosa), known as the 'queen of flowers', has a long history of mundane and magickal usage. Said to have been first cultivated in China approximately 5000 years ago, the Rose has been a favoured plant ever since. Considered the emblem of Venus (the goddess of love), the Rose is highly associated with love and friendship, as is seen in gifting a lover/ valentine with a Rose.

How To Use Rose For Magick

  1. Plant Rose bushes out the front of your house to provide protection for your home and it's occupants. Planting Roses in your garden is also said to attract fairies.
  2. Dab Rose perfume/ Rose oil on your forehead/ third eye to increase
  3. When leaving the house, place Rose water on your clothing or wearRose tea Rose perfume/ fragrance oil to aid in protection against the 'evil eye'.
  4. Add dried red Rose petals to spells to increase sexual attraction.
  5. Add Rose petals to tea and drink before bed to increase psychic dreams.
  6. Drink Rose tea to help increase clairvoyance, .
  7. Add dried Roses to healing and love sachets. Rose is especially useful for emotional healing, hence the offering of roses after the death of a loved one.
  8. Dried Rose petals can be added to poppets for use in healing and protection.
  9. When creating love spells that involve water, substitute Rosewater to increase the potency of the magick.
  10. Wash hands in rosewater prior to mixing love potions/incenses
  11. Rosewater can be used in love and protection rituals.
  12. To increase self -love and appreciation of one's own beauty, soak in a bath to which you have added rose oil or rosewater.
  13. Roses are ideal for spells involving catching someone's eye due to the flower's associations with attraction and beauty.
  14. When using roses in magick, you can also incorporate colour correspondences (e.g. red for passion/sex; pink for emotional love; yellow for friendship; white for marriage and spirituality; orange/peach for employment).
